Rabies

Rabies is a deadly virus transmitted by infected mammals via saliva, bites or scratches. In Connecticut, rabies in humans is rare. However, the potential threat is very real due to an increase in the spread of raccoon rabies into Fairfield County since 1991.

For information about how to protect yourself, your family and your pets, you can download a copy of Rabies: Frequently Asked Questions (pdf file)
