| Temporary Food Event Permits Planning a special event such as a church picnic, fair or festival? The Stratford Health Department wants to help make these events healthy, safe and successful by ensuring that food served at these events is safe for residents to consume. To do this, the Health Department requires that any operation offering food to the public at a fixed location for no more that 14 consecutive days obtain a temporary food service permit. In fact, the Stratford Town Code requires a permit for temporary events when food and beverages are offered to the public. Those in need of a temporary food service permit can obtain an application from the Health Department and should submit it at least two weeks prior to the event. You may also download the application below and submit it at our office. There is a fee associated with each permit.
