| Blood Pressure Screenings
|
High blood pressure is dangerous because it makes the heart work too hard. And the force of its blood flow can harm arteries. High blood pressure often has no warning signs or symptoms. Once it occurs, it usually lasts a lifetime. If uncontrolled, it can lead to heart and kidney disease, and stroke. Find out if you have high blood pressure, by visiting our Free Blood Pressure Screenings conducted the first and third Wednesday of the month at the Southend Community Center from 10 am-12 pm. Or the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at the Baldwin Center from 10 am - 12 pm. You can also schedule an appointment with one of our Nurses to have your blood pressure checked at our offices located at 468 Birdseye Street. For information and to schedule an appointment call 385-4058. | Other links for high blood pressure www.heart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=2114 www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/dci/Diseases/Hbp/HBP_WhatIs.html Return to Public Health Nursing Home Page Return to Stratford Health Dept Home page |
