Healthy Stratford Council

The Healthy Stratford Council is made up of diverse residents and professionals living or working in Stratford. The mission  is to improve the health status of Stratford residents.

Since the Healthy Stratford Council (HSC) began in 1994, it has promoted a variety of health initiatives including fitness and nutrition programs, Stratford’s Farmers’ Market, blood pressure, prostate and breast cancer screenings, and activities to reduce teen smoking. The HSC also works closely with a number of agencies such as the health department, schools, and community organizations to help create and promote programs.

We are looking to grow our membership. We ask that you have a strong interest in community health issues. No formal training or education in health is necessary. Members are asked to attend our
monthly meetings that are held at the Birdseye Complex at 468 Birdseye Street from September through June.  For the current agenda that lists the date and time click here.

Currently, the Healthy Stratford Council is developing activities for our new Women’s Health Heart initiative. Click here for more information.

If you are interested in joining the Healthy Stratford Council, contact the Stratford Health Department at 385-4090.
