The Golf Course will open January - March depending on the weather conditions from 10:00am-2pm. Please call ahead for information. In April, the course will be open 8:00am-6:00pm daily. Hours will expand to 7:00am-7:30pm daylight permitting. No one under the age of ten is allowed to play the course unless they have completed the Junior Golf Lesson Program. Any golfer 9-12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. All players must have their own clubs and bags.
Only Par 3 with Riding Carts. In August rent a cart after 2 pm for $4 per person for 9 holes.
The August specials are after 5:00pm pay regular greens fee and play as much as you’d like. For non residents play on Thursdays and Fridays starting at 2pm and play 9 holes for $10.00.
Golf ID’s are required for resident fees. Pull carts and clubs are available to rent.
Everyone must wear soft spikes or sneakers. There are no exceptions.
Daily Tee Times will begin in April. Call for tee times beginning Monday at 10:00 am for up to 1 week in advance.
Tee Time Reservation System Policy
Revised January 2010
Golfers may make tee time reservations daily beginning Mondays at 10:00 am starting in April. They may also make tee time reservation via the internet by clicking on Schedule Tee Times.
All names must be given to hold spots with a telephone number for 2 golfers. Golfers have until Thursday at 10:00 am to cancel without penalty.
A twosome may sign up for a tee time and openings in a group will be filled whenever possible to make foursomes. Tee times can be held by a single player but openings will be filled to make a foursome.
Groups must arrive 15 minutes before tee time. Failure to do so may result in losing your tee time. The office time is official time.
When golfers are lined up to make reservations, the cashier will schedule tee times from 2 people in line and then will accept a reservation from someone on the phone.
One tee time reservation per person per day and that person must be a member of the group for which the reservation is made. Please allow everyone the opportunity to play.
If weather closes the course, all reservations are cancelled. If the course is closed for a period of time, all tee times during this period are cancelled although every effort will be made to schedule you once the course reopens.
The tee time reservation system is in effect daily April through September.

| Built in 1988, Short Beach Golf Course is a Scottish links style par 3 golf course constructed along the scenic Long Island Sound at the Mouth of the Housatonic River. It features large elevated greens and tees with many bunkers and 4 water hazards to challenge any golfer. |

New Carts are available for rent at $14 per cart with 2 people and $7 for 1 person. We have a limited number of cars.

Pro shop
Clubs, balls, tees, shirts, visors, and hats are for sale in the pro shop. Golf lessons are offered. Please call the pro shop for details.
ID Hours
Everyone must renew his or her ID. When the course is open. they will be issued daily. We will begin issuing the 2010 IDs October 1. Resident rates are applicable only with current ID. Fee for renewal is $5.
Gift Certificates
Gift certificates are available throughout the year during course hours. Please inquire with the golf course cashier. They are great gifts for any occasion.
Golf Lessons
Golf Pro Don Samatulski offers Private, Group Lessons and Clinics to help improve your game. Lessons emphasize long and short game, putting, chipping, sand traps and strategy.
One ½ hr Lesson = $40
One Hour Lesson = $70
9 Hole Playing Lesson = $125 includes Green fees
Package: 3 One hour lessons plus 9 hole playing lesson $295
Clinics = $10 per person

Don was the Head Coach of Pace University Men’s Golf Team and 2008 NCAA Northeast Division II Golf Coach of the Year. He has over 30 years of teaching experience as a Country Club Professional. Recently, he served as head professional at Rock Ridge and Saranac Lake Country Clubs. Previously he was an assistant head professional at Race Brook, Rolling Hills and Shorehaven Country Clubs. He is a noted teaching professional and tournament player, two time Westchester Open Medalist, three time US Open Local Qualifier and holder o numerous course records.
Lessons are also available with Michael Gaffney. You can register for the five one hour private lessons by giving your name to the cashier, or contact the golf instructor, Michael Gaffney, directly at 381-0051 or at mgaff1@optonline.net.
Group golf lessons are offered on Wednesday nights beginning September 16 from 6:00pm-7:00pm. They are five one-hour lessons for $35. Registration is September 1-11.
Indoor lessons will be offered on Wednesdays at Birdseye Complex beginning in March for 5 weeks. Registration TBA. Fee is $35.

Ladies League
Meets every Tuesday morning at Short Beach beginning with registration April 13 from 9-11 a.m. at Short Beach. League play will begin April 20 and blocked tee times will begin May 18. Watch the bulletin board for the schedule.
Men’s League
The Men's League will begin its season in April at 8:00 am. Sign ups will take place in March from 9:00-12 noon at the Short Beach Golf Course. The fee is $35.
The league is for ages 9-15 and meets on Mondays from 11:00am–1:00pm. The fee for the league is $55. The league has limited space and is on a first-come registration basis. The league runs July 12-August 23. Registration begins March 6 and continues until full.
Junior Golf Lessons 212470 Section 41-44
Classes for each age group will meet once a week during which the participants will be taught the fundamentals, rules and etiquette of golf along with a curriculum of life skills. Session I is on Tuesdays April 27- June 8 from 4:00–5:00pm for ages 8 – 10, and 5:30-6:30 for ages 11-16. Classes are also on Wednesdays April 28– June 9 from 4:00–5:00pm for ages 8-10 and 5:30-6:30 for ages 11-16. Fee is $35 for seven weeks.
Session II is June 22-August 8 on Tuesdays for ages 8-10 from 4-5 :00 and for ages 11-16 from 5:30-6:30pm. Class is also on Wednesday for ages 8-10 from 4-5:00 and ages 11-16 from 5:30-6:30pm. Fee is $35 for seven weeks.

Stratford Open Golf Tournament
Save the date a Saturday September 25 for the Town Championship. Co-sponsored by the Stratford Rotary Club, the tournament benefits a local non profit. Town championships are awarded in 4 categories: Juniors, Adults, Seniors and Ladies. Register through September 23 at the course. Watch for more details. Proceeds will benefit the Purchase of Dictionaries and Thesauruses for grades 3 & 5, Scholarships for Members of the SHS and BHS Golf Teams and the Stratford Community Fund.
