“How to Attract Birds” at Stratford Library

“Sunday Afternoon Talks” Set for May 20th

The Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford has announced that “Sunday Afternoon Talks”, its monthly series of informative and entertaining talks featuring prominent local guest speakers, will be held on Sunday, May 20 at 2 pm. This month’s topic is “How to Attract More Birds to Your Yard” with guest speaker Chris Petherick. “Sunday Afternoon Talks” is free and open to the public.

Chris Petherick is a lifelong bird enthusiast and owner of the Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield.  Petherick developed a love of watching, feeding and learning about birds as a child from time spent with his mom and at the Audubon Center in Western New York.  As an adult he honed his identification skills through many hours on the trails, in pursuit of one more warbler. Petherick and his wife, Sue Shunta recently relocated to Fairfield after 20 years of living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

“How to Attract More Birds to Your Yard” will be held in the Stratford Library’s Lovell Room beginning at 2 pm on Sunday, May 20. This will be the final talk in the series until October. A new schedule for 2018-19 will be announced soon.
