In 2026, the United States of America will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the country. During this time, we are observing Stratford's continued role in the transformation of the United States from the country's founding until today.

Stratford is an affiliate of the America 250 | CT Commission and is engaging our community organizations and citizens to contribute to the meaning of the America 250 Anniversary in their own unique ways. Our events and activities are tied to the CT Commission four themes: Tell Inclusive Stories, Power of Place, Doing History, and For the Common Good.

This is an opportunity for reflection as well as a time to consider the path forward in expanding the foundations originated by the Declaration of Independence.
