What is it?

-          An infection of your liver

-          There is no current vaccine to prevent HCV

Spreading HCV:

-          It is easily spread from person to person

Why should adults get tested (18+):

-          Cases are on a rise for young adults

-          Many are not aware of their risk

-          HCV can be cured if discovered early

-          Anyone can be affected by HCV at any age

Stratford Statistics:

-          38% of those actively infected with HCV were aged 20-34 (Stratford, 2018)

-          52% increase of those actively infected with HCV ages 55 and older (Stratford, 2018-2022)

CDC Recommendations:

-          CDC recommends that providers test anyone 18 and over for HCV at least once

-          Over 90% of people with HCV can be cured with treatment within 8 to 12 weeks
